CereTax for Salesforce is live in two apps: one for Salesforce CPQ and Order Management, and one for Salesforce B2C Commerce storefronts. Companies that quote, take orders, or sell online in Salesforce can calculate accurate, audit-ready sales tax on every quote, order, and checkout in real time, without leaving the platform.
Salesforce holds the moment a price becomes a commitment. In CPQ (configure, price, quote), that moment is the quote a rep sends. In B2C Commerce (Salesforce's business-to-consumer storefront platform, once sold as Commerce Cloud), it is the checkout page. When the sales tax on that screen is wrong, someone downstream finds out: a buyer who disputes the invoice, a controller who rebooks the order, or an auditor who asks why the quote and the invoice carry different rates.
Most teams cover the gap with estimates. Tax gets approximated at quote time and corrected at billing, or a storefront runs on ZIP code rates and finance trues it up at month end. Each fix is small. The count grows with every new state, product line, and storefront.
CereTax for Salesforce removes the estimate. The calculation engine runs inside the Salesforce record itself, so the number on the quote or in the cart is the number on the invoice.
CereTax for Salesforce ships as two apps that share one calculation engine and one set of tax rules:
Run one or both. The rules, product codes, and reporting behind them are the same, so a company that quotes in CPQ and sells online through B2C Commerce gets one tax answer across both channels.
Both apps install through Salesforce: the CPQ package into a production or sandbox org, the B2C cartridge into your active code version through Business Manager. Your Salesforce admin or implementation partner installs the app, enters the CereTax key and profile, and maps the objects you calculate on. The CereTax team supplies the package, the credentials, and the product codes, and works through setup with your team until the first quote or order calculates.
This is the same CereTax platform that more than 200 companies rely on across software, manufacturing, retail, ecommerce, energy, and more. CereTax integrates with platforms that move more than $4 trillion in transactions each year, and Salesforce sits on that list.
The engine behind both apps maintains 98k+ active tax rates, 67M+ taxability decisions, and 5.9M exemption decisions, researched and kept current by our in-house tax team. Every one of them is available on a Salesforce quote or storefront order through a product and service code. When your catalog grows past plainly taxable goods, into bundled digital and physical products, configured hardware with installation, or items with state-by-state exemption rules, the calculation already knows what to do. Behind it all sits rooftop-level precision and real people who answer the phone when you call.
If your team quotes in Salesforce CPQ or sells through B2C Commerce, and sales tax still gets fixed after the fact, we should talk. Request a demo to talk to a sales tax expert.
